SLAYER, MASTODON, HATEBREED, NEUROSIS Confirmed For Norway's HOVEFESTIVALEN

January 17, 2007

SLAYER, MASTODON, HATEBREED and NEUROSIS have been confirmed for Hovefestivalen, a brand new five-day festival set to take place June 25-29 on the island of Tromøy, just outside the city of Arendal, in Norway.

Hovefestivalen reportedly has the potential to become Norway's biggest festival, with up to 20,000 music fans expected to attend this year's event.

As previously reported, SLAYER is rumored to be the headliner of this year's With Full Force festival, set to take place June 29 – July 1 at Flugplatz Roitzschjora in Löbnitz, Germany. The official confirmation of SLAYER's participation is expected shortly via the event's web site.

SLAYER will make its first-ever network television appearance on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" this Friday, January 19. The band will play two songs on air, "Jihad" and "Mandatory Suicide", as well as three additional off-air tracks for a crowd of over 1,000 people.

American Recordings has pushed back the projected release date of the "Unholy Alliance" CD+DVD package to February 27 from the previously announced February 13. Filmed on July 13, 2006 at Vancouver's 18,000-seat General Motors Place, "Unholy Alliance" features performance footage from SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED. DVD bonuses include backstage footage and band interviews.

SLAYER's "Christ Illusion" album, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard chart, has sold just under 150,000 copies in the United States since its Aug. 8 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
